I love a salty, crunchy snack mix and this No-Nut Snack Mix meets all the desired qualities for game day snacks, summer charcuterie boards, or party favor bag treats.

If you’ve been around here for any amount of time, you know this about me, I love a good snack! And, I recently got to be part of celebrating a gal I used to babysit and her family has always believed in me. But, I knew some folks in attendance would be allergic to nuts. So, I did a little change up on my Signature Snack Mix but kept all the tang and sass, and a little spicy that doesn’t torch your tongue but hangs on the tip while you try to figure out what’s going on.

This No-Nut Snack mix is a twist on a traditional cereal snack mix with extra crunchy ingredients, a tangy/salty sauce, and no nuts. It's perfect for showers, birthday parties, charcuterie side, or with a beer watching the big game. I dare you to stay out of it!

I don’t know what it is about a snack mix, but I’m convinced they are perfect for any occasion. Am I right? And, my signature snack mix and other snack mixes on the blog usually have mixed nuts included. But, when I know something will be off-limits for a guest, I like to really change it up and add something everyone can enjoy. Or at least make sure there is something anyone can enjoy whether there are gluten allergies, healthy attendees, or a specific ingredient will draw the cause for an epi!

You can change up the flavors, trade out the ingredients to match your theme and if you put it in a pretty silver bowl, it’s as fancy as it needs to be!

For me, there is nothing worse than throwing a party and having all kinds of food leftover. I like it when there are totally approachable things and this snack mix usually has crumbs in the bottom. If not, take a Ziploc baggie to send the rest home to the groom, new dad, or hosts’ significant other!

Tips to keep in mind when planning shower food:

  • Time of day of the shower.
  • Venue – will there be onsite kitchen access or do you need to make ahead and transport. Will people be sitting and can use a fork, or does it need to be finger or fork friendly.
  • Attendees – is it a bunch of people who need to scoop at a buffet, or is it more intimate and you can tackle intricate items. Is it older church ladies or a bunch of fun bachelorettes?
  • What food does the bride like?
  • What food trends have you been wanting to try?
  • What foods are appropriate for the season?
  • Do a lot of a few things. People will want to taste some of everything.
  • If you are going savory, add a little something sweet and vice versa.
  • Keep it simple.
  • Always include your signature item.

Easy Wedding or Baby Shower Themes:

  • Bite-sized brunch – all the hostesses tackle the sweet and savory spread, with a fruit salad mixed in
  • Afternoon tea – bite sited treats – charcuterie boards, cookies or mini cupcakes, signature punch
  • Bundt cake buffet – this is great for a Sunday afternoon shower where people go eat lunch and come back
  • Southern Soiree – mason jar desserts, snack mix or flavored nuts, sweet tea, and fruit water
  • Drive-thru Extravaganza – decorate a drive-through area and pack up a little party favor for anyone who stops by
  • Theme out all the details – match the colors to the wedding colors, or tackle the color and theme she didn’t pick. If doing a baby shower, pick a theme for the season or match the theme of the nursery – keep the food simple and just decorate with the colors.

Whether you are doing a church ladies shower, sister shower weekend, bachelorette party, or a drive-through extravaganza, this snack mix is the perfect no-nut treat to add to the table spread, or bag up as favors.
