To me, nothing says Super Bowl and Football season snack food like something you can sit in your chair and eat bite by bite. I love a good Chex Party Snack Mix and I think I’ve finally developed my signature mix.

Each holiday season, I make a snack mix for Mr. McKinney’s co-workers. I’ve made several mixes in the past – Cowboy Ranch Chex Mix, Parmesan Ranch Snack Mix, Chicken Feed Snack Mix, and Nacho Ranchy Texas Trash. Texas Trash was what we always called this at my house growing up and I feel like my mom/grandmother’s recipe had a lot more pecans and hard crunchy things mixed in.

Bigpittstop releases her Signature Snack Mix - a perfectly blended chex mix perfect for party food, baby shower food, a weekend in the woods, camper food, snacks for dad, teach gifts, Super Bowl parties, snacks around the house or munchies for a weekend with friends.

But, this year I finally arrived in finding my Signature Snack Mix. And, I think Super Bowl 2019 seems like a perfect time to unveil the recipe! But, you don’t have to wait until the big game to have this. Its a perfect mix to throw out for a baby shower or wedding shower, first birthday party (we will have some at Little Man’s Flannel and Flapjack’s soiree later this month), Father’s Day, teacher gifts, or just any time you have a big group together who needs something to munch on.

It’s salty, savory and has a little spice that hits on the back of your tongue in the tingly way (its the subtle, milder green Tobasco). Maybe that will be the reason alone to make it! Trust me, it will be hard to stay out. Oh, and mine is puppy and baby boy approved!!!

Bigpittstop Signature Snack Mix

4 cups Rice Chex cereal
4 cups Corn Chex cereal
3 cups Wheat Chex cereal
4 cups honey nut Cheerios cereal
2-3 cups White Cheddar Cheese Crackers (Cheez-its)
3 cups twist pretzels
3 cups Nacho Cheese Bugles
2 cups mixed nuts
1 1/2 sticks butter, melted
4 Tablespoons Worcestershire
4 teaspoons green Tobasco sauce
1 package dry ranch dressing seasoning
1 package Italian dressing seasoning or Fiesta Ranch dry seasoning
1 cup parmesan cheese powder
2 teaspoons seasoning salt
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder or chopped dried onions
1 large roasting pan

Preheat oven to 250. In a large pan mix all cereal, crackers, pretzels, Bugles, and nuts. Stir to combine as a mixture. In a glass bowl or measuring cup, melt butter in a microwave. Add all seasonings to melted butter. Stir together with a fork until all lumps are gone and seasonings are completely combined. Pour over cereal mixture. Stir with a wooden spoon or hands until all mixture is completely coated with seasoned butter. Bake in the oven for 1 1/2 hours, stirring every 15 minutes. Make sure with each stir to pull the cereal off the bottom so it all gets toasted.

After completely cooled, store in an airtight container. Makes around 30 cups of product.

Let me know what you think! Does your family have a signature snack mix? Or what is your favorite food to see show up at a Super Bowl party?
