I’ve always loved Advent – the celebration of beginnings, but more the purposeful, intentional leaning into the Manager and the Savior. Why it takes Christmas to beckon my heart to pause, I have no idea. I didn’t grow up in a home that did Advent as a “thing.” We did all the holiday festivities, but this daily thing leading up to Christmas day, we didn’t really do. As a mama now, I’m guessing its because it takes planning and we already had a ton of things going on at home around the season. My mom made the holidays special in other ways, so we did not miss out. But, I’m super intrigued by the idea of Celebrating Advent.
A couple of years ago, I brought together some thoughts on the topic of Advent.
This year will be no exception. I’m making plans and getting ready for the season. I’ve created a list of Advent writing topics that we will use to gather together on the Advent discussion journey beginning December 1. Until then, catch a recap of years gone by!
