Mother’s Day is just around the corner, with a great opportunity to host a brunch or women’s gathering. This Easy Spring Brunch Menu is a great blend of sweet and savory items that are light and substantial enough to feed a crowd.
Last year, I hosted my own birthday party. I turned 40, my son was in school, and I was back near many special friends. So, what better way to make sure some of your favorite people surround you than to host your own gathering? Yes, I know it sounds crazy to plan a party and host it yourself on your special day, but my heart is happiest when I’m loving and serving my people. I had the biggest smile that day, and my heart was so full.
No worries, my boys took me out to dinner, and I didn’t have to clean that up!
Of course, you could choose an option like a traditional Easter dinner, but Mother’s Day is so different. Gather women in your life who mean something to you. Or, use these ideas for a spring bridal or baby shower. Food tastes different when it’s light, colorful, and eaten surrounded by special women.
Spring Brunch Spread
- Meat Salad – Everything Bagel Chicken Salad is my best recommendation
- Pimento Cheese – I have two great options on my blog – Savory and Weight Watcher Friendly
- Bread – pretzels or croissants
- Crackers
- Carrots and ranch or vegetable dip
- Fruit – with or without fruit dip
- Sweet Something – Lightened Up Chocolate Fruit Dip or sweet citrus muffins
- Light Beverages – Sparkling Water, fruit water, flavored iced tea like Raspberry Hibiscus
As you think about planning a menu, I challenge you to follow the Hostess with the McMostess mindset on these types of things, where you have a wide variety of allergies, food preferences, and appetites, and making sure your people get fed!
