It is back to school time and it seems the number one topic on Facebook among my friends has been what to feed their family for dinner. Everyone is over the summer pantry and cranky kids who only want to each chicken nuggets and popsicles. As school starts back, it seems like a perfect time to do a family meal reset and grab some new ideas for easy and approachable weeknight family meals.
This list of our 2020 Monthly Meal Plans is a great guide for tackling everyday dinners, weekend guests, family celebrations, and skipping weeks for family vacations. I’ve not been as disciplined in 2021 to capture all our weekly meals, but they look very much the same. So, what’s typically on our family weeknight dinner menu plan?
- a taco of some sort
- sunday nights – salad kit with leftover protein from the week
- Sheet pan meals – usually a protein and then roast veggies at 400 for 15-20 minutes, we use olive oil and balsalmic vinegar with steak seasoning
- spaghetti – ground turkey, Hunt’s sauce, wheat noodles and sometimes I sneak in roasted tomatoes or spiniach in the sauce
- Deer Stroganoff
- Chicken Spaghetti
- Easy Lasagna
- Crockpot Pulled Pork – pork tenderloins or pork sirloins, BBQ sauce, and mccormick seasoning pouch
- Stuffed Bell Peppers – I also love to do this with the small sweet peppers and use them as loaded nachos
- soup will be on the menu from October to February
- Stacked Enchiladas
- homemade pizza
- Breakfast Egg Muffins
- Easy, Herby Chicken Pot Pie
