Slow Cooker Venison Stroganoff

Slow Cooker Stroganoff is a great way to tenderize any meat with the deep flavors of this Euro American classic weeknight dinner. This recipe uses deer meat and is the perfect meal to gather your family for Sunday dinner or a busy weekday.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds stew meat pieces beef or venison
  • 1 can french onion soup or beef broth
  • 1 can Golden Mushroom soup
  • 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire
  • 1 pkg stroganoff seasoning mix
  • 1 cup non-fat greek yogurt or sour cream
  • Egg noodles or cauliflower rice

Instructions

  • Place meat in the bottom of a slow cooker.
  • Top with soups, Worcestershire, and seasoning mix.
  • Cook in slow cooker on low for 8 hours. (It can be cooked on high for 4 hours, but the meat will not be as tender.)
  • Once you are ready to serve, cook noodles or cauliflower rice according to package directions.
  • 10 minutes before serving, stir in greek yogurt or sour cream.
  • Serve stroganoff over rice or noodles.
  • Store leftover noodles and stroganoff mixture in separate containers.

Notes

Serve with a side salad, carrots, or a green vegetable.
